Skin Care Through the Ages: Your 30s-Keeping Up Appearances
Your 30s are the "bridge decade" falling between the carefree 20s and the maturing 40s. Today a woman in her thirties can look vibrant and youthful, especially if she practiced sun avoidance over the years. While some superficial wrinkles may appear, the correct use of skin care products can do wonders to keep lines and creases at bay.

Ordinary moisturizers cannot actually prevent aging, but they can keep drier skin from looking parched. Using Alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) leave-on products can actually smooth, because AHA's may cause stinging and irritation, it's a wise idea to search for a product that you can tolerate using everyday if possible. The two most important factors to consider when choosing an AHA product are its concentration and pH. Many excellent AHA products can be purchased in your drugstore for reasonable prices and will do as good a job as more expensive department store brands.

"If acne persists into the thirties, supplement your skin care with an AHA cleanser," said Dr. Aghassi. The use of sunscreen, especially on the face, is critical. Because 30-plus year old skin begins to dry, a moisturizing sunscreen is recommended.
