Following calf implant surgery, expect some discomfort similar to the sensation of a strained muscle following a hard workout. The incisions for this surgery are relatively small and the resulting discomfort is moderate. You may be given a prescription pain medication to use for several days. Ice packs will help reduce swelling and soothe the incision. The calves must be protected and kept very clean following this surgery. Your doctor will provide you with instructions.
