Does it hurt to have a mole removed?
In most cases, your doctor will administer a local anaesthetic, so the only thing you'll feel is the pinprick of the needle containing the anesthetic. In most cases, it will be necessary to avoid getting your wound wet.
If you are considering having several moles removed for cosmetic purposes, it may be wise to have one mole removed first, to see how well your skin heals before having the others done. If a raised scar does form, your doctor may prescribe a steroid injection and localized massage to minimize the scar.
