Crowns: Pain and Other Side Effects
It is not unusual for a new crown to be mildly sensitive to extreme temperatures for several weeks after it's placed. However, if the sensitivity is severe - or if the bite feels uncomfortable - contact your dentist. Most likely, further adjustments to the crown may be necessary.

Sometimes, a temporary crown may become loose between visits. If this should happen to you, place the crown back on your tooth immediately! Use a drop of Vaseline™, if necessary, to hold the crown in place until your next visit. Or call for an appointment to have the temporary crown refitted as soon as possible. Otherwise, your other teeth might move. And that could significantly affect the final restoration.
